What is Core PCE Price Index?
The Personal Consumption Expenditures price index is the Fed's preferred inflation gauge, released monthly with personal income and spending at 8:30 AM ET.
Why it moves markets
Because the Fed targets PCE directly, surprises feed straight into rate expectations. It usually matters less than CPI because much of it can be estimated in advance.
